Our People

Timberlands Pacific employs a total of 45 staff (based in Launceston and Mount Gambier) who draw on a solid foundation of knowledge and experience in the forest industry.  The combined expertise of our carefully selected management team covers the full spectrum of forest establishment, tending, harvesting, log manufacturing, sales and marketing of forest products, as well as financial reporting and compliance.

Steven Brown, Chief Executive Officer

Steven’s professional background is as a Finance Manager, with experience based in the forestry and pharmaceutical industries. He has worked in the forest industry since 2006, initially responsible for Timberlands Pacific commercial functions, and ultimately managing the operational and strategic direction of the business.  Steven has been a Director of Timberlands Pacific since 2009, and the CEO since 2014.

Steven manages a high-performance team, strategically focused on sustainably maximising both asset value and cash flow. Long term planning, value recovery, market development, contractor and contract management, combined with best practice HS&E and corporate governance are the pillars of this business. 

Steven has a B.Com from the University of Tasmania and is a member of CPA Australia.

Outside work, Steven is a keen road cyclist and mountain biker and enjoys sharing travel experiences with his wife and children.


Jim Henneberry, Chair

Jim has led complex global businesses through director and executive roles. He brings strengths in strategic leadership, high performance organisations, stakeholder engagement and corporate governance. He is currently a director of FWPA, Chair of Circa, and Trustee at Monash University BioPria. Jim was formally CEO/MD of Australian Paper and has business experience in the Americas, ANZ, Asia and Europe. 

Jim holds a BS in Eng. from Syracuse University NY, MBA from University of Houston, TX, Advanced Business Leadership at GE's US Leadership Institute and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Outside of work, Jim enjoys cycling, fishing and the occasional round of golf.
 


Dr Robert Musk, Technical Manager

Robert has worked in various technical roles across native forest and plantation management in Tasmania and Victoria, specialising in forest mensuration, remote sensing and spatial data analytics.

As Technical Manager he leads a dedicated team that is passionate about empowering Foresters to make better decisions provisioned with high quality information.

Robert has Bachelor of Forest Science from University of Melbourne and a Doctorate from the University of Tasmania.

Outside of work Robert enjoys bushwalking with family and gardening.
 


Jim Knott, Estate Development Manager

Jim has 30 years of commercial experience within the plantation, native forest, wood processing and export sectors spanning operational, analytical, research and management roles.   

Jim is supported by a Technical team focussing on estate modelling and the provision of plantation resource information and management systems.  Jim’s primary objective is to maximise Timberlands Pacific’s client return on investment by identifying and implementing strategies to improve expected future cash flow with an acceptable risk profile.

Jim’s has a Grad. Diploma in Economics (Econometrics), Grad. Diploma in Property Valuation (Deans Honours Award) and is a member of The Institute of Foresters.

Outside of work Jim has a keen interest in bike riding; racing around Tasmania’s beautiful scenery and also an interest in the restoration of old cars.
 


 


Emma-Kate Griffiths, People and Culture Manager

Emma-Kate has worked in the forestry sector since 2003, having served in diverse leadership roles within both public and private entities before her current position at Timberlands Pacific where she enjoys cultivating a thriving workplace with responsibilities for people, safety, and stewardship with Responsible Wood and FSC certifications across our estates.

Emma-Kate is a results-focused leader who promotes continuous improvement by empowering and motivating employees to realise their full potential and bring their best to the job. Her leadership ensures that both employees and contractors thrive, contributing to a culture of excellence and achievement.

Emma-Kate holds a master’s degree in human resource management and is currently studying for a master's in business psychology, combining professional experience with a deep understanding of the psychological aspects of business management.

She is dedicated to the team’s success and enjoys spending time outdoors and at various sports with her family outside of work.


Tammy Auld, Regional Manager (Penola)

Tammy has over 20 years of experience in softwood and hardwood plantation management, having worked for both government and private organisations across South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania. She has held a variety of operational, planning and management roles in establishment, silviculture, harvesting and marketing. Tammy has also used her operational experience in forest certification and safety management systems as a consultant advising small business in compliance and management system requirements.

Tammy is supported in her role as Regional Manager GT by Technical and Harvesting personnel with a focus on sound planning to ensure value optimisation for the client and customer satisfaction.

 She has a Ba Science and a Ba Forest Science (Honours) from the University of Melbourne, an MBA from Deakin University, and is a member of Forestry Australia. Tammy is involved in the broader industry, is an Associate Member of the Green Triangle Forest Industry Hub, Chair of the South Australian Forest Products Association Governing Council and Co-chair of the Forest Industry Advisory Council for South Australia.

Outside of work, Tammy enjoys spending time with family at the beach or on the farm.
 


 


Kelly Williamson, Tree Crop Manager (Penola)

In softwood and hardwood plantations as well as the native forest industries since 2004 Kelly brings experience in plantation establishment, roading, harvesting, harvest planning, sales and scheduling, pests and weeds, fire management, research, biodiversity/ecology and forest flooding. Her various roles have seen her work across a variety of locations in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and New South Wales.

As Tree Crop Manager in the Green Triangle Kelly is supported by a strong team of professionals responsible for the establishment, management and protection of the estate.

Kelly has a Ba Science and Ba Forest Science (Honours) from University of Melbourne and is a Member of the Institute of Foresters.

Outside of work Kelly enjoys travelling in Australia and overseas, camping and the outdoors, trying her hand at amateur art and has a taste for vintage and classic vehicles.
 

 


Richard Holder, Regional Manager (Tasmania)

Richard’s background is predominantly in Processing and Executive Management in the mining and manufacturing sectors both locally and internationally, focusing on challenging paradigms to create competitive advantages and developing high performing teams and business culture through clear vision, strategy and engaged leadership.

Richard has a B.Engineering, Diploma of Business Management, Diploma OHS, Project Management Professional and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Outside work, Richard enjoys car restoration and cycling


Robin Dickson, Tree Crop Manager (Tasmania)

Robin has worked in the private forest industry since 1982,is focussed on precision forestry and delivering continual improvement in plantation performance, with experience in the operational management of plantation estates in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, and Western Australia.

A Forest Practices Officer (Planning) since 1989, he finds being part of the innovation necessary to meet the changing expectations within the forest industry rewarding.

Robin has a Diploma of Technical Forestry and is a member of Forestry Australia. He is supported in his role by a dedicated team responsible for the establishment, management and protection of the estate.

Outside of work, Robin is a keen fly fisher and enjoys hiking with family and friends in the scenic spots of Tasmania.


Rob Daveney, Chief Financial Officer (Tasmania)

Rob brings over 25 years of experience in leadership, financial management and strategic planning to Timberlands Pacific.  As the Chief Financial Officer, Rob oversees all aspects of financial operations, driving profitability and returns while ensuring governance and compliance obligations are met.

With a proven track record in financial leadership, Rob has successfully implemented cost-saving initiatives, optimised capital allocation strategies and enhanced financial reporting processes.  He is passionate about leveraging financial insights to drive strategic decision-making and excels in fostering cross-functional collaboration to achieve business objectives and to maximise organisational value.

Rob holds a Degree in Commerce from the University of Tasmania and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.  

Outside of work, Rob enjoys time outdoors and with family along with running, surfing and hiking.
