Timberlands Pacific is seeking a capable and motivated Operations Forester to join our Tasmanian team, based in Launceston. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to strengthen their operational forestry expertise across plantation establishment, silviculture, contractor supervision and estate management within a collaborative and high-performing environment.
The role offers strong professional development exposure and the opportunity to build long-term career capability within Timberlands Pacific, with scope to grow into broader responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate plantation establishment programs including site preparation, planting and early silviculture operations
Supervise and support contractors to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality operational delivery
Monitor stand health, productivity and plantation performance
Support budgeting, forecasting and reporting for operational programs
Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors and regional stakeholders
Environmental Stewardship:
In this role, you will also contribute to:
Implementation of environmental management and rehabilitation initiatives
Play a key role in delivering the high standards required to maintain FSC® and Responsible Wood certification, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable forest management
Engagement with local community and First Nations stakeholders
About You:
You are a proactive and technically capable forestry professional who enjoys being close to operations and working collaboratively with contractors and field teams. You bring a strong safety mindset, practical problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high standards in plantation management.
Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant qualifications and a minimum of four years of experience in forestry operations, contract supervision, and operational planning
Strong working knowledge of WHS and environmental practices within the forestry industry
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong organisational, time management, and project management skills
Ability to analyse data and provide informed operational recommendations
