Timberlands Pacific is seeking a passionate and capable IT Systems Administrator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to deepen their experience in server, network, and cloud administration while supporting a geographically diverse business in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

 About the Role

Based at Launceston, Tasmania, the IT Systems Administrator plays a key role in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of our IT systems, servers, and network infrastructure. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the role ensures performance, security, and availability of critical systems; leads infrastructure improvements and upgrades; and provides responsive, customer-focused support that keeps our people productive and our operations humming.

Core focus areas

  • Administer Microsoft Servers, Microsoft 365/Azure services, Remote Desktop clusters, VMware, Microsoft SQL Server, and advanced network devices.

  • Monitor systems (alerts, notifications, trend lines); investigate and resolve incidents; produce regular performance reports.

  • Lead and document change, patching, and upgrade activities; maintain accurate procedures and configuration records.

  • Provide escalation-level support to ICT staff and contractors; assist with user training on standards and good practice.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of ICT solutions that align with business needs.

About You

You’re a motivated, service-oriented IT professional who blends technical depth with clear communication and pragmatic problem solving. You enjoy owning outcomes, improving systems, and helping users.

We’re looking for

  • ~3+ years supporting IT systems, networks, and users (internal IT or MSP).

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Confident written documentation and the ability to deliver basic user training.

Helpful experience

  • Microsoft Servers & Microsoft 365 (Azure AD, Exchange Online, Intune).

  • Remote Desktop/RDS farms, VMware, Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and other advanced network devices.

  • PowerShell or similar scripting; ERP/application support (desirable).
