This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or early-career professional looking to deepen their financial, analytical and reporting experience while working toward further qualifications such as CPA or CA.

Based in our Mount Gambier office, you’ll be part of a high-performing commercial function supporting a geographically diverse and operationally dynamic forestry business. This role offers broad exposure, strong mentoring, and the chance to contribute to sustainable forest management across the region.

About the Role

The Accountant plays a key role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial and management reporting to support internal decision-making and client obligations. Working closely with the Finance Manager and internal stakeholders, you’ll help shape budgets, forecasts, performance analysis and financial controls that underpin our commercial outcomes.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across financial operations, data integrity, systems, and reporting—making it a great platform for future progression within Timberlands Pacific.

Core focus areas

• Assist with the development, analysis and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Support budget preparation, reforecasts, three-year plans and strategic financial modelling.
• Perform month-end activities including journals, reconciliations and invoicing.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to internal stakeholders to support business decisions.
• Help maintain strong financial controls, data accuracy and compliance across reporting processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems, processes and reporting tools.
• Provide general commercial and administrative support as needed in a fast-paced operational environment.

About You

You’re an emerging finance professional with strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn and a proactive approach to solving problems. You communicate clearly, enjoy working with numbers, and are eager to grow your capability in a real-world commercial setting.

We’re looking for

• A degree qualification in Accounting or a related field.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and data accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• A positive attitude and a commitment to learning and development.

We value diversity and are committed to equal employment opportunities and a safe, inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people of all cultures, abilities, sexes and genders.
